Varsity Strikes Early and Often to Beat Nashua North

Eager to avenge last year's 1-0 loss to Nashua North, the Bears scored six seconds into the match and controlled the entire match, earning a wire-to-wire 5-0 victory overt the Titans. Hanover has scored 12 goals in their first two matches, but were equally pleased to earn their first clean sheet of the season. Aware, that North had scored two early goals in the win against Dover, the Bears were on their toes from the very start. The Titans played the ball back on the kickoff, and then quickly made two more back passes. Before they knew what had hit them, Carter Guerin stole the ball deep in the North end, passed across the face of the goal, and Zach Tracy had an easy tap-in with six seconds elapsed on the Stellos Stadium clock. The game didn't get any easier for the Titans.  With eight players pressing into the attacking third, Hanover patiently worked the ball around and threatened constantly.  Ryder Hays hit a testing shot at the three minute mark, and six minutes later the ...

JV1 Ties Nashua North 1-1

One the eve of the start of school, the JV boys took to the road to square off with the Titans of Nashua North. For much of the first half, both teams vied for possession in the middle third of field trading off a few chances. Hanover would have a couple good looks dropping the ball off to players making filling runs near the 18, but missed the frame early not testing the keeper. Hanover used its stalwart defenses to deny the Titans and only conceded just two shots on frame. As the game moved into the second half, the game developed into more physical play that is more typically like the level varsity teams play at. Though Hanover’s front offensive line seemed frustrated it also fueled them to play harder. After a couple instances that seemed worthy of call, Ronan Przydzielski earned a penalty kick with a tackle from behind in the 18 and proceeded to convert it with ease. However the scoring wasn’t done for the day. The Titans continued to press Hanover's center backs and after a...

JV1 Opens The Season With a 4-1 Win Over Concord

Hanover's JV1 boys opened the season on Friday with a decisive 4-1 victory over visiting Concord. The Bears started off brightly,  dominating the game but struggling to get shots off and being a little sloppy. Concord were completely outplayed,  though,  and seldom had the ball in Hanover's box. Jojo Drent almost gave us the lead when Jack Myer's corner was headed on to the head of Jojo, who could only nod it into the left side netting. Jack was very industrious through the game and crossed again to Ronan Przydzielski, who was free inside the six yard line, but was off balance and volleyed well over. The Bear midfield kept pinning Concord in their own box and it almost paid off as Ben Thaler-Wellborn took a shot from well outside the box which almost went in top left hand corner. Up to this point, Concord had barely had a sniff, but the striker crept past our line and hit a shot which was was superbly saved by Gavin Nartowicz, with his first (an...

The 2023 Hanover Boys Soccer Blog is Open For Business

Dear Players, Parents and Friends - Welcome to the 2023 Hanover Boys Soccer Blog. For a number of years, I have written a blog to share information about the boys' teams at Hanover High School For many of those yers, that has included game reports, practice schedules, and news updates.  Last year, the advent of the Final Forms data base management program utilized by the HHS Athletic Department made communication with players and parents much easier and more efficient.  Since then, I have used Final Forms for all of the daily information about practice and game logistics, weather and school updates, and all of the information required to smoothly operate a program involving 96 players and 8 coaches.  However, sending game reports via Final Forms excludes all of those friends of the program - alumni, parents of former players, and friends/supporters in the community.  So it is logical to continue to blog and invite everyone interested to stay up to date with gam...
